Jack - You could be right about an **** fissure, BUT it's just as likely, or more so, to be a hemorrhoid (piles). Things you can try in the next 2 weeks till you see your doctor: continue to eat a soft with fiber, use a Preparation H hemorrhoidal suppository (no prescription needed), and use soft toilet paper gently. Some constipated persons benefit from a powdery stool softener, like physllium or gel capsuled. Fasting is NOT the way to go. Vitamins are not the way to go if you're eating a reasonably healthy diet. Good luck.
