Fasting or detox will not improve an existing thyroid condition. Hypothyroidism doesn't just affect overweight people, but "regular" people as well. By discontinuing your medication you run the risk of relapsing into your pre-medication stage, aggravating symptoms and the problem itself, and when you start taking your medication again, causing your body undue shock and stress that can lead to serious health problem.
