fasting cleanse
Kristy K asked:

I want to do a 2-3 day juice fast to cleanse my body of toxins (from non-organic food ie: pesticides, herbicides, dyes etc.). (NOT for weight loss or any other crazy purpose)

I’m looking for advice from people who have actually done one on how to prepare for it and finish it so I don’t mess up my good metabolism and put myself into starvation mode.

Please only reply if you have experience. Please do not reply and just tell me not to do it. Thanks!

  1. I can’t fast, I’m diabetic.
Fasting isn’t a bad idea, but I don’t recommend a juice fast. I recommend going for two meals without food or drink. That will break you down.

As for toxins, just eat a healthier diet. Go on your two meal fast once a month and your body will clean itself out. If someone ever comes at you talking about “toxins” acting like they know what they are talking about, ask them what these toxins are. If they say “lactic acid”, tell them you are drinking your water and smack them in the forehead and call them a lousy toxin sheep.

Toxins are not the poisons that people like to claim. The real poision is all of the junk they are eating, drinking and smoking.

  2. Hey there….

I’ve done some fasting in my day! You mentioned specifically a juice fast…..

I have experience with the grape fast. You can eat as many grapes as you like….well washed of course! Drink unlimited amounts of grape juice and water. You should do this monofast for two days then slowly come back to eating normally, adding food groups from vegan up as you go. If you wish, you can add a small salad at the end of each day.

    Hope I’ve helped!

  3. I did try the famous Master Cleanse, but didn’t have the proper Maple Syrup for the drink to work properly. I did find the lemon drink quite tasty though. I usually stick to herbal supplements formulated to cleans the body, mostly liver cleanser’s as the liver is what filters the blood. Look for an herbal pill containing Milk Thistle and Dandelion Root.

  4. Done the Stanley Burroughs lemon aide fast. Worked pretty well I think. Make sure to use the correct ingredients or wont work as well.

When coming off a fast, Make sure to start eating light.

  5. If you work hard or have a strenuous routine, you need calories to keep your body going.
If your body really needs calories to keep running at hard work and you deny it, your body’s organs will pay for not eating.

If you have a more sedentary life-style (or sedimentary… like me), a fast is good, if only done twice a year or so.

I usually do a week, drinking only buttermilk.
But I’ve heard of drinking lemonade and maple syrup mixture. (don’t really know about this one! See below.)

    Be careful!
