btrflywngs20 asked:

I plan to start fasting New Years Day. I have read a few artivles on Juice Fasting and the Master Cleanse Diet, EVen though I would love to loose weight this is not the reason why I am fasting. Anyway… I am wondering if anyone out there over this holiday weekend has ever fasted before and may have some suggestions. This is my first time. Not sure onhowmany days but if the beginning goes well I am aiming for 40 days. We’ll see where I get to!!

  1. kool ill fast then too:)

The only thing im scared about is that it might be dangerous

  2. well, i thought about it, but it makes you more anxious to quit your fasting when you are actually doing it. if you have strong will power then maybe you can do it. fasting is unhealthy though

  3. My opinion on holiday dieting is this, why do it when you know there is allot of food at holiday events? Why not wait until after the holidays. My theory has worked, because I eat at the holidays and still stay a size 6.

  4. If you’re just beginning then 40 days is a little too drastic. I did a fruit fast actually. I was aiming for 3 days but ended up doing 2 days. Its good it makes you feel really good inside and out. I suggest you try the juice fast instead and go for like 3 days or 5 days. There are cons to fasting though like: you feel weaker than usual. Bad breathe (since your tongue gets coated). Trust me 40 days is too long.

  5. the first two are the hardest then it gets easier. green tea with lemon juice will be your best friend b/c it boosts metabolism and gets rid of your water weight.

and actually, fasting for a fair amount of time is EXTREMELY healthy b/c it flushes toxins out of your body and cleans your body up
